The Twelve (Mark 3:7-19)

Jesus demonstrates His love for us through the gracious calling of "The Twelve."  Based not on their performance or their standing but on His sovereign choice.

Jesus - Lord of All (Mark 2:18-3:6)

Through questions of fasting and sabbath observance, Jesus shows that He is Lord of All - He is the bread and rest we need.

Soul Physician (Mark 2:13-17)

Jesus calls Levi demonstrating both the power of His call and the grace of His call.

Through the Roof (Mark 2:1-12)

Jesus points to mankind's greatest need through the healing of the paralyzed man - not physical healing, but spiritual healing - our need of the forgiveness of sin!

Healing to HEALING (Mark 1:29-45)

Jesus came healing sickness and disease as a sure sign that the new age had dawned - the kingdom had come.  But these physical healings served to authenticate his person and his message and pointed to the greater reality of the spiritual healing, the forgiveness of sin.

All Heaven Broke Loose (Mark 1:21-28)

All heaven breaks loose as Jesus demonstrates His authority in His teaching and in His actions.  Even the demons properly understand who this Man is!

Follow Me (Mark 1:14-20)

The good news of Jesus is a Radical Gospel....and so is the Call.

Into the Wilderness (Mark 1:9-13)

Jesus, as the 2nd Adam, as the True Israel, is sent into the wilderness that which the 1st Adam and Israel under the Old Covenant did not do - to perfectly obey God.  Jesus was sent into the wilderness to redeem sinners like you and me.

The People Not the Place (1 Peter 4:8-11)

Too often we get so caught up in a project to remember that there are people involved - God's people, people created in His image and to whom we owe our love.  Peter reminds us to keep the first things first:  "Above all, keep loving one another earnestly."
