Peter roots his call to the church for godly living in the gospel of Jesus Christ and motivates us in light of Christ's sure return.  Peter, along with the other apostles, didn't preach or teach cleverly devised myths but the Truth of the Word of God.  It is certain for it is, indeed, the authoritative Word of God.  

He is Risen! (Luke 24:1-12)

He is Risen!  The resurrection of the Lord Jesus is fundamental to the Christian faith and fundamental to any one's hope for a future with the Lord.  

Living in Light of Your Calling (2 Peter 1:3-15)

Peter reminds the church of her standing in the Lord Jesus and then because of that standing, encourages the church to living in light of it.  

Our Firm Foundation (2 Peter 1:1-2)

Rev. Chris Taylor does a wonderful job of introducing Peter's second letter to the churches as Peter prepares the church to battle not only struggles from the outside but also false teaching from within.

In the conclusion to Peter's first letter, he summarizes the wonderful theme - stand firm in the grace of God.  

Shepherds, Sheep, and the Chief Shepherd

With the background of the rebellious shepherds from Israel's past, Peter teaches the church the proper roles for the undershepherds of the church and the flock of God, while reminding us of the wonder of our Chief Shepherd, the Lord Jesus Christ.
