Paul encourages the church to press on toward the goal of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.  

Too often we say things like, "I'll get serious about..... as soon as I'm finished with .... .  The Lord calls His people to follow through in obedience for His glory and for our own good.  

Tyler Kenyon, a student at Covenant Theological Seminary preaches from Galatians 1 revealing the glory of the gospel of grace.  

Followers of Jesus are to be known for their love for one another - a love flowing from the love of God.  

Christ's sheep hear His voice and follow Him; and why wouldn't His sheep follow Him?  He is the Good Shepherd who laid down His life for His sheep.  

Peter exhorts the church to live  in view of what she one day will be.  

Peter directs our minds to the great and terrible Day of the Lord and he directs our hearts to the heart of God - a heart that longs to see none perish and all come to repentance.  Believers in the Lord Jesus are waiting for that which follows judgment - the new heavens and the new earth.

Peter encourages the readers of his day as well as the church today to Remember the Word of God and Consider the Character of God in the face of the false teachers who mock the coming of the Lord Jesus.  Peter points us forward to the reality of coming judgment; but the One who judges is the same One in whom salvation is found.  

In this text, Peter makes clear the tragedy of false teachers and those who are enticed by them.
