I Am the Greatest (Mark 9:30-37)

While Jesus is talking about His death and resurrection, the disciples are arguing among themselves who is the greatest.

I Believe; Help My Unbelief (Mark 9:14-29)

As believers, we are called to live in the valley remembering the God revealed on the mountain top - we learn to cry, "I believe!  Help my unbelief."

Mountain Top Experience (Mark 9:2-13)

The transfiguration is often an event that leaves us asking what is being communicated here about the Lord Jesus – His person and His ministry.  And that’s just it – it is communicating that Jesus is the Son of God, the One come in fulfillment of promise, the One to whom Moses and Elijah and the temple pointed.  He is the King; He is the Servant-King.

The School of Christ (Mark 8:31-9:1)

Jesus takes His disciples to school teaching them what it means that He is the Messiah, teaching them what it means to follow Him, and what it means to confess Him.

The Light Dawns (Mark 8:22-30)

Mark, through Jesus’ miracle of healing the blind man, teaches us that our growth in grace doesn’t happen all at once; but in fact, often comes in fits and starts – but it does happen.  And even as Peter declares in his climactic statement, “Your are the Christ!”, we too, can see Jesus for who He is.

You Don't Get it Yet? (Mark 8:1-21)

In this second miracle of a great feeding, Jesus disciples His disciples, teaching them and reminding them that He is altogether sufficient; He alone provides for our greatest need!  Don’t look anywhere else for salvation is found in no other name under heaven – in Christ alone!

Who Let the Dogs In? (Mark 7:24-37)

Through the casting of a demon out of the daughter of a Gentile to the healing of a deaf and mute man, Jesus’ power, grace, mercy, meekness, and Messiahship are put on display!

Lips or Hearts? (Mark 7:1-23)

Jesus confronts the Pharisees (and us) with our hypocrisy and our acting as if we are righteous by following the traditions of men while disobeying the law of God - but reminding us that it is Christ who cleanses us - and not just our hands, but our hearts.

Out for a Walk (Mark 6:45-56)

Jesus is shown once again to be the Son of God; the one with authority over all creation - this time by a walk....on the water!  Jesus is proclaiming by His words and actions that He is the great "I AM."
