Justified in Christ (Romans 3:19-31)

The Apostle Paul show us that there is a righteous requirement to stand before God and that we do not meet that requirement.  In our flesh, there is an absence of the righteousness we need before God.  But in His grace, He has provided that righteousness in His Son Jesus and we receive that righteousness through faith which then bears fruit....

The Death of Death (Revelation 1:17-18)

Revelation presents things as to how they are, not what they look like to the physical eye.  In John's vision, it shows what Jesus is like, not what He looks like.  In this short passage we so both the Glory of Christ and the Work of Christ and how that relates to the Doctrine of Atonement - a doctrine worth contending for.

In a passage we often use to emphasize OUR place before the Lord, Pastor Miller here emphasizes "why" we have that place - the Lord Jesus Christ.

Doctrine Matters (Jude 1-25)

Doctrine matters because Jesus matters - what we believe about Jesus has eternal consequences - what we believe about Jesus impacts how we live life.  This isn’t just a matter of the head - it’s a matter of the heart - my prayer is that through this series, those who hear will know more of the Lord and more of His Word. The more we know of Him, the more we long for Him, the more we know the faith once for all passed down, the more that faith matters.  And the more we know Jesus and the faith, the more we long to live in a manner worthy of our calling.  In this wonderful letter from Jude, I  emphasize three things as an introduction to this series:  Contending for the Faith, Dangers and Enemies of the Faith, and Strengthening the Faith.

Ensnared in Your Own Trap (Mark 12:13-27)

Pharisees, Herodians, and Sadducees attempt to ensnare Jesus in a trap using taxes and a ruse regarding the resurrection.  But Jesus turns them both around revealing their hearts and hypocrisy.
