The Shadow of Something Better (Exodus 18)

As Moses and Israel prepare for the receiving of the law, we are all reminded of the mighty acts of the Lord as He displays His power, sovereignty and grace.  God's glory and care for His people are once again put on display.  

The Lord is My Banner (Exodus 17:8-16)

God's sovereignty is no excuse for our laziness, disobedience or unbelief.  That the victory is found in Him gives us confidence to move forward in obedience to Christ.  Christ is our banner; the One lifted high that all who look on Him will be saved. 

Living Water from the Rock (Exodus 17:1-7)

God's provision is often mocked by those opposed to Him.  Glory through suffering?  Exaltation through the cross?  Water from a rock?  Who ever has heard of such a thing?  

Bread Rest (Exodus 16)

God, in His grace, remains faithful to an often faithless people.  He provides for His people exactly what they need - and it's sweet.  

Bitter Waters Sweet (Exodus 15:22-27)

Bitter waters are made sweet by the sweet Savior of a bitter people.  

This is Why We Sing (Exodus 15:1-21)

God delivers the Israelites from their bondage in Egypt and their response is to break into a song with God as it's object and subject.  This message answers the question, "Why do we sing?"  It also asks the question, "When He's the subject of the song, who can refuse to sing?"

God of Glory (Exodus 13:17 - 14:31)

Once again God displays His power and authority over all things and rescues His people when they cannot rescue themselves.  

Bought with a Price (Exodus 13:1-16)

We are the redeemed.  In saying so, we acknowledge that we are not our own, but we have been bought with a price.  We belong to another - to the One who bought us, the One who saved us, the One who redeemed us, the One who has given us an inheritance, the One who has loved us.  

Easter in Exodus (Exodus 12:33-51)

The Exodus of Israel from Egypt is a shadow of the redemption accomplished by Christ in His life, death, and resurrection.  Just as the Lord makes a mockery of His enemies in Egypt, He does so again in the resurrection.  

The Gospel in the Passover (Exodus 12:1-32)

In the last of the plagues, God ultimately secures the deliverance of the Israelites from Egyptian captivity.  And yet, the Passover points to something greater, the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
