The Whole Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-24)

Put off the old and put on the new.  Put on Christ.  Put on the whole Armor of God.

The Armor of God, Part 1 (Ephesians 6:10-20)

As we ordain and install new deacons, what an appropriate text to come to - "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might." Paul calls us to be strong, to stand firm, and to put on the full armor of God.  The grace of God is put on display in that He, again, provides for us what we need to stand firm.

Servants and Lords (Ephesians 6:5-9)

Does the Bible commend slavery? Is all Scripture still relevant? Does God care about our work? What does any of this have to do with Jesus? (Spoiler alert: no, yes, yes, & everything).  This sermon is by Aaron Raines, Ministry Intern at Christ Church Bentonville.

Paul calls believers to walk in a manner worthy of their calling, to walk wisely, to understand the will of the Lord, and to walk in the Spirit.  

Love and Light (Ephesians 5:1-14)

We too often think that God gives us his commands to keep us from doing what we want to do (sometimes that's true, thankfully), but God gives us commands because as our heavenly Father He loves us and wants what's best for us.  He call us to walk in love and in light.  

Immanuel, God With Us (Isaiah 7:1-17; Matthew 1:18-25)

Ahaz was called to trust in a promise.  We have been called to trust in a promise fulfilled.  Ahaz's sign was a child that would be called Immanuel because God was going to be with the remnant. Our sign is a child that WAS Immanuel because He WAS God with us. (A sermon preached by Christ Taylor, former TGC Associate and now Church Planter).
