The Promise of a Redeemer (Genesis 3:1-15)

As we begin our Christmas in the Covenants Advent Series, Rev. VanMarel preachings from Genesis 3 and the first promise of a Redeemer.

O Sovereign Lord (Matthew 20:1-16)

In the Parable of the Laborers in the Vineyard we find clearly that the Master has the right to do as he pleases with that which belongs to him.  Our Sovereign Lord has the sovereign right to do as He pleases.  He is a God worthy of our worship.

Who Then Can Be Saved? (Matthew 19:13-30)

Through the little children and the rich, young ruler, Jesus continues to teach of us the radical nature of himself and the kingdom that He has ushered in.

Kingdom Values (Matthew 19:1-12)

Jesus teaches us a high view of marriage taking us all the way back to creation - two become one flesh.  And it points us to the Christ and His church.  

Sin and Forgiveness (Matthew 18:15-35)

Here, Jesus gives instruction on confronting others with their sin - for their good.  And in response to Peter's question of how we deal those who sin against us, Jesus challenges our flesh by calling us to forgive.  

Gentle and Lowly (Matthew 18:1-14)

The Lord loves His people.  And as He is the gentle and lowly King, His disciples are to reflect His character and His nature.

The Glory of God the Son (Matthew 17:1-13)

Painful but Necessary (Matthew 16:21-28)

The Christ, the Son of the Living God (Matthew 16:1-20)

In one of the greatest declarations of all time, in the midst of pagan territory, Peter declares, in answer to Jesus' question, "Who do you say that I am," "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God!"  The truth of Peter's statement is profoundly relevant for this life and the life to come. 

Believing in Jesus (Matthew 15:21-29)

The ministry of Jesus extends beyond Israel to the Gentiles.  As we see conflict increasing between Jesus and the Jewish religious rulers, we also see faith increasing and the reach of the Gospel expanding.
